The market runs the same patterns every year. The dates come from the FC 24 to FC 26 cycles and get adjusted as soon as EA confirms the content.
- Fri 18/09 – Thu 24/09Early Access & Web Appfalling hard
Web App, EA Play trial and Ultimate Edition early access. Barely any coins are in circulation, so prices look high — but they drop every day as more and more packs get opened.
Do this: Sell everything you pack, straight away. No investments. The one exception: cards for your own club that you actually want to play — and even those will be cheaper next week.
- Fri 25/09 – Fri 02/10Full Releasefalling hard
Full release and Ones to Watch. The player count explodes, packs get opened en masse, and gold cards keep losing value daily. Meta cards hold up a little better because everyone is building a team.
Do this: Keep selling instead of buying. First cautious buys of meta cards at the end of the week at the earliest, once daily losses drop below 2 %.
Fri 25/09 Full Release + Ones to Watch - Sat 03/10 – Thu 22/10Early Season (Ratings Reload, Ultimate Scream)falling
The market settles at its level. The weekly promo rhythm kicks in: Thursday dip, promo at 6pm UK on Friday, supply high over the weekend, recovery on Monday and Tuesday.
Do this: Trade the week: buy meta cards Thursday evening or Friday, sell Monday or Tuesday. Sell promo cards the moment you pack them — don't hold them.
Fri 09/10 Ratings Reload - Fri 23/10 – Fri 06/11Ultimate Scream (Halloween)falling
The first big wave of content, with plenty of SBCs. Icons and Heroes steady out because fodder disappears into SBCs.
Do this: 83+/84+ fodder is in demand now — hold highly rated gold cards (84–86) for the SBC waves. Halloween cards lose value once the pack week is over.
- Sat 07/11 – Fri 20/11November (Captains, FC Pro Live)flat
The quietest stretch of the first half of the season. Icon SBCs and upgrade packs keep demand up for fodder and Icons.
Do this: Last window to offload Icon investments before Black Friday. From here on, build coins.
- Sat 21/11 – Thu 26/11Before Black Friday (Sell-Off)falling hard
Everyone knows Black Friday is coming: Lightning Rounds, flash SBCs, Best of TOTW. The market sells early to have coins ready.
Do this: Sell everything tradeable by Tuesday 24 Nov at the latest. Sit on coins. Don't panic-sell on Thursday — by then it's too late.
Thu 26/11 Black Friday Eve - Fri 27/11 – Mon 30/11Black Friday Weekendfalling hard
Lightning Rounds all day, Best of TOTW back in packs, flash SBCs. The classic market low of the first half of the season, usually Sunday or Monday.
Do this: Buy: Sunday evening and Monday have historically been the best entry. Pick up meta golds, Icons and Heroes with the coins you saved.
Fri 27/11 Black Friday Lightning Rounds - Tue 01/12 – Thu 10/12Post-Black-Friday Reboundrising fast
Packs dry up again, supply falls, and prices recover by 15–30 % within 7–10 days.
Do this: Hold your Black Friday buys and sell them off in batches once the price sits 20–30 % above what you paid. Don't wait for the absolute peak.

Joga Bonito and Unbreakables (FC 26: 5 Dec and 12 Dec). The market is stable and Icons tick up slightly.
Do this: Keep trading the week. Start building positions for Christmas (meta cards 86–89).
- Fri 18/12 – Wed 23/12Winter Wildcardsflat
A big promo with plenty of objectives and SBCs. Lots of new content, and plenty of new players join for the holidays.
Do this: Hold meta cards. Sell Winter Wildcards cards the moment you pack them.
- Thu 24/12 – Thu 31/12Christmasrising
New consoles, new players, FUT Points as gifts. Demand for meta cards and Icons picks up noticeably.
Do this: Sell your meta investments between 24 and 27 Dec. That's the peak before the TOTY crash. After that, stay in coins.
Thu 24/12 Christmas - Fri 01/01 – Thu 07/01Time Warp & TOTY Nomineesfalling
TOTY voting opens. The market starts hoarding coins for Team of the Year.
Do this: Now is the deadline: sell every investment you don't intend to hold through TOTY.
Fri 01/01 Time Warp & TOTY Nominees - Fri 08/01 – Thu 14/01Pre-TOTY Crashfalling hard
The biggest predictable crash of the season. Everyone sells to have coins for TOTY packs and cards. Icons and highly rated meta cards lose 20–35 %.
Do this: Sit on coins. First buys on TOTY Friday evening at the earliest, main buys over the weekend and on Monday.
- Fri 15/01 – Thu 21/01TOTY Weekfalling
TOTY cards drop in waves: attackers (Fri), midfield (Mon), defence (Wed), full squad (Fri). Extremely volatile, and the low for the whole market usually lands somewhere between Sunday and Wednesday.
Do this: Buy what you plan to sell in the rebound: meta golds 87–90, Icons, Heroes. Only buy TOTY cards themselves at the end of the week, once the full squad is in packs.

The strongest rebound of the season. Icons and meta cards gain 25–45 % within two weeks.
Do this: Sell in batches. From 30 Jan the air gets thin, because Future Stars is around the corner.
Fri 22/01 TOTY Full Squad - Fri 05/02 – Thu 18/02Future Starsflat
The young-player promo, with plenty of upgrades. The market stays stable.
Do this: Trade the week. Future Stars cards are hype cards: sell them straight after you pack them.
- Fri 19/02 – Thu 11/03Late Winter (Knockout Royalty, Fantasy FC)falling
A quiet phase. Fantasy FC cards with upgrade potential swing with real-world results.
Do this: Only flip short term, and only on clear weekday patterns. No more long-term gold investments.
- Fri 12/03 – Thu 25/03Ultimate Birthdayflat
The FUT Birthday promo, with skill move and weak foot upgrades. Lots of SBCs, so fodder is in demand.
Do this: Hold fodder (84–86) for SBCs, otherwise build coins. TOTS is getting closer.
- Fri 26/03 – Thu 15/04Spring (Before TOTS)falling
Road to the Final and Trophy Titans (FC 26: 27 Mar and 3 Apr). The last 'normal' phase. The market knows that from mid-April everything that isn't TOTS becomes worthless.
Do this: Sell every gold, Icon and Hero investment by 10 Apr at the latest. That's the last exit.
- Fri 16/04 – Thu 29/04Pre-TOTS Crashfalling hard
Team of the Season is on the way. Gold cards fall towards discard value and autumn promo cards lose heavily.
Do this: Hold nothing except cards you play yourself. Stack coins for TOTS flips.
Fri 23/04 Community TOTS - Fri 30/04 – Thu 10/06Team of the Seasonfalling hard
Six weeks of TOTS: one league per week (Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and so on). TOTS cards are most expensive on release Friday and lose 20–40 % by Sunday.
Do this: Flips only: buy TOTS cards Sunday or Monday, sell Wednesday or Thursday before the next league drops. Never hold a card longer than a week.
Fri 07/05 Premier League TOTS - Fri 11/06 – Thu 24/06Ultimate TOTSfalling
The best TOTS cards from every league go back into packs. Every earlier TOTS loses value again.
Do this: Sell Ultimate TOTS cards immediately. Endgame starts here.
Fri 11/06 Ultimate TOTS - Fri 25/06 – Fri 20/08Summer / Endgame (Shapeshifters, Futties)falling
Shapeshifters and Futties. 95+ cards everywhere, and prices only still matter for the very best cards.
Do this: Play, don't invest. Day flips during Lightning Rounds at most.
- Sat 21/08 – Fri 17/09End of Seasonfalling hard
FC 28 is around the corner. Coins and cards lose all meaning.
Do this: Spend it all or give it away. Nothing has value any more.
