How are the TOTW predictions made?

We go through the league matches from Friday to Monday: goals, assists, clean sheets, ratings and man of the match. We check that against published TOTW predictions and leaks from known leakers and put every player into a tier: very likely, likely or possible. The list is recalculated four times: Sunday and Monday evening, Tuesday morning and Tuesday afternoon.

When is TOTW 3 released?

On Wednesday 30 September at 6 pm UK time. From then on the TOTW cards are in packs for one week.

Is it worth buying gold cards before the TOTW reveal?

For cheap golds it often is: when a player makes the TOTW, his gold card leaves the packs for a week, supply drops and the price rises. For TOTW 2, golds under 10,000 coins rose by a median of 12 % until Wednesday evening, while more expensive golds lost 7 to 13 %. Timing is everything: from Sunday evening, by Monday morning at the latest. On Monday the big sites publish their predictions, and after that the prices have already moved. Back the wrong player and you sell at a loss, which is why a fixed buy limit and a sell day belong to every trade.
